Thomasina Winslow + George Guarino

Thomasina WinslowThomasina Winslow is a top-level blues artist from New York. She completed a 70-day tour of Europe this past summer, performing to capacity crowds at festivals and in concerts.

She first recorded at age four with her father the late Tom Winslow, a legendary environmentalist/folk and blues artist who worked closely with Pete Seeger. She received her BA in classical guitar performance and is a singer/guitarist of the Delta Blues, Delta Slide and Piedmont blues. She performs acoustic blues fervently and reflects the artistry of the masters like Mississippi John Hurt, Rev. Gary Davis and Robert Johnson while keeping her original songs and compositions on the contemporary cutting edge like her fellow modern players Ry Cooder, Keb Mo’, Taj Mahal and Eric Clapton.

Sound for the evening by John Chiara of Albany Audio Associates. Lighting: Tom McGrath of Albany Theatre Supply Co.

George Guarino's New World - Individuals

BEAHIVE member George Guarino presents recent artwork from his “New World – Individuals” series, along with a specially produced Art-Hypnosis piece.

Guarino’s work is based upon a model of the mind that depicts the subconscious in the center as re-constructed maps of familiar territory. The viewer is confronted with a mission to travel a new route from the familar to the possibilities that exist in new creation. Each work is like a unique individual. The profound surprise rests in the experiential piece that viewers will be invited to share in the back room.

There is no possibility that the viewer can leave unchanged in a positive way because the power of simply sitting and experiencing the piece in the backroom will connect the viewer with their own personal creativity in such a way that their entire life from that point forward will be affected.
