Every three months we’ll screen an independent film that you may have missed the first time around or haven’t seen in a while and is not so readily available on services such as Netflix. The BIFF & BAEF Movie Nights are celebration of great films with good friends and an awesome selection of beer provided by The Hop.
BIFF is a grassroots nonprofit organization that is putting together the 1st Annual Beacon Independent Film Festival, which will be held Sept. 13-15, 2013.
BIFF’s mission also includes an education component that will begin this year (in partnership with BAEF) with a filmmaking program in the middle school. The goal of the program is to guide the students through the filmmaking process, from conceiving an idea to shooting it to editing the final product. The instructors consist of a group of volunteers who are working professionals in all aspects of film and television.
BAEF is a coalition of parents, teachers, residents and local businesses in partnership with the Community Foundation of Dutchess County. Their common goal is to support a more comprehensive education for the students of the Beacon City School District through fundraising and grant writing.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact BIFF.
