I’m passionate about…
sharing mindfulness practices, building community, and deepening my connection to self and others.
Briefly describe your work.
My passion as an educator lies in sharing the valuable, life-affirming tools of yoga and mindfulness with people of all ages. I have more that 13 years of experience leading classes and developing workshops for yoga studios, schools, social work agencies, detention centers, community centers, public libraries, and more. I also facilitate movement and mindfulness experiences for group events and conferences, and lead yoga retreats in the Hudson Valley and internationally.
What do you love about what you do?
I love the transformations I witness as students begin to adopt these practices make them their own.
How did you start (your work)?
I began as a student of yoga (and continue to be one) in the late 90s and started my journey as a teacher in 2005. My work organically broadened as I recognized I had the desire to teach populations outside of a yoga studio setting. This led me to working with court-involved and vulnerable school youth, children, and more.
What do you like best about BEAHIVE?
The emphasis on community and collaboration, and the wide range of events (art shows, music, town halls, coffee klatches) that offer us members even more opportunities to connect!
Where do you see your work going in the next year… five?
More work in schools! I hope to develop more programming and broaden my reach with students in NYC and Hudson Valley schools.
