First, Beacon, then our first state capital of Kingston (since closed), then our current state capital of Albany, and now….
This week we reached an agreement to open a hive in Peekskill!
We’ll be in the ol’ Pugsley Building, the grande dame of Downtown Peekskill, newly renovated as a “whole building ecology” concept called The Flatz, where each floor meets a different need of the community.
The Flatz is a perfect values-aligned partner for us: They revitalize historic properties and rent at fair prices with ethical standards for tenants, and are contributing to the ongoing revitalization of downtown Peekskill.
BEAHIVE Peekskill will grow our community and our physical presence to three hives, stretching 100 miles along the river through the entirety of the mid-Hudson Valley.
This will allow us to better support the growing creative class and microbusinesses in the region — and ultimately play a bigger role in shaping a Local Living Economy.
We’re aiming to have an orientation event the week of June 22 to introduce our new way to work and all things BEAHIVE. Stay tuned for details.
More importantly, we should be accepting members in July.
In the meantime, please share your thoughts with us as we prepare to swarm this hive.
Our wings are just abuzz over this.
