Doors: 7 PM
Open Book: 7:30 PM
Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers & Wendy Ramsay: 8:30 PM
Join us for an intimate evening of inventive guitar-work and vibrant vocal harmonies, with two dynamic musical duos.
Cold Spring-based husband and wife duo Michele and Rick Gedney are Open Book — melodically inventive, harmony-singing Hudson Valley favorites whose first two albums received national airplay and critical acclaim. Their third album, Grateful, was released last June.
They’ll share the bill with guitarist Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers, grand prize winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, founding editor of Acoustic Guitar magazine, and his sidekick, multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Wendy Ramsay. Based in upstate New York, the two musicians collaborated on Rodgers’ latest album, Almost There, which won the 2015 Sammy Award for Best Americana, and were selected to perform in the Emerging Artist Showcase at this year’s Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.

Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers & Wendy Ramsay
“Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers’ songs ring true and new. Spot-on work from an American wordsmith.”
“It’s the blend. It’s the instruments. It’s the ideas. It’s the creativity. It’s the authority. It’s the flair. It’s the flirting. It’s the fast fingers. It’s the laughing. It’s the words. It’s the rock. It’s the folk. It’s the wit. It’s hard to put your finger on just what you like best about Rodgers and Ramsay.”

“In pop music, stealth and restraint often go unheralded, yet these qualities are every bit as important as flash and dazzle; subtlety, in the right hands, can pack as much punch as obviousness. Husband-and-wife duo Michele and Rick Gedney, aka Open Book, know all of this, and their third CD, Grateful, exemplifies the low-key power of haunting melody buttressed with expansive harmony, the satisfaction of adroit wordplay entwined with skillfully understated musicianship.”
